KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, April 10 — The O. C. Forde Memorial Lecture Series begins today, April 10, at the Peace Memorial Hall.
The first lecture would be delivered by Dr. Robertine Chaderton who was ranked by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as one of the top 100 accountants in the world.
Chaderton is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants and the CEO of the Caribbean Consulting Group. She is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and holds a certificate in Advanced Financial Crime Prevention.
She lectures at the Cave Hill School of Business in accounting and the management of financial institutions. She previously served as Director of Banking and Operations at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
This lecture series has been organised by the Financial Alliance and is dedicated to the memory of Ormond Cyril Forde. The Financial Alliance is a recently established group of individuals who have associations with financial institutions and who are dedicated to the creation of an environment in which corporate power is exercised in the best interests of stakeholders.
The Alliance is also generally interested in the pursuit of sensible economic and social development policies in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and throughout the Caribbean.
Forde, to whom the lecture series is dedicated, was a local financial pioneer that started the Employees Benevolent Association, the St. Vincent Cooperative Bank Ltd. and the St. Vincent Building and Loan Association. He was born on September 15, 1908 and died on December 21, 1983.
There would also be a tribute to Mr. Forde at today’s lecture, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
