  2. HEY jason ooh! ugly and black.man r u a racist,or a black person who hates his skin colour,or just plain small minded !When it comes to different accents vincies are very versitile.Empress shows that she is very talented, high self-esteem and constructive individual.what about you do have any these characteristics? look you self in the mirror and ask the man in mirror.

    • You are right Grampa.I was just a bit puzzled on why would an “Empress” sing about rum?Perhaps the name insinuates Empress from hell? Hence the name and song. And if they can’t take criticism they shouldn’t be on a stage.Bless up.

  4. Ah can’t argue with the judges…Ah did say EMPRESS was the “dark horse” in the competition. I think her singing prowess and stage management, swayed the judges. Her two songs were not lyrically strong…but she sang the hell out of them. I like her second song, a nice patriotic song for the ages. I thought poorsah had two wonderful performances, surprised he was not in the top three. Brother Ebony and others in the finals made a strategic mistake by not releasing their second song earlier to the public, so folks could get familiar with it…B.E second song went over people heads, including the judges.

Tajoe really gave away his crown….his two songs were too similar to last year’s song especially his second song; I can’t understand why he would do such a thing…I think the judges were being magnanimous in rewarding him with a fourth spot…he would have gotten the last spot in my book.

Congrats to the EMPRESS…she has dominated this Carnival like no other…I would not be surprise if she capture the road march title. The woman is on FYAH!

  5. Hmmmmmmm strange results indeed!!!!! i had Fire Empress in the top 4 but Joy C was the clear winner of the night. My reason was that F.E second song took us not where. I’m still confused as too if the song is about missing SVG or the 10 days of carnival. There was absolutely no connection there.
The real mystery of the night is how in the world did Tajoe pull a fourth place. Someone has to explain that one too me. That was quite possibly the worst title defence since the Dallas Mavericks tried this year to defend their NBA title.
Zion I should have placed in this….. These are the kind of songs that made Poorsah who he is back in the 80’s and early 90’s. Tow hard hitting calypso that turned V.P. upside down. Every verse was anticipated and cheered and he left the crowd wanting more. Maybe, just maybe, two strong political songs, especially the first song that ripped into the judges, was not a smart idea, but they were funny as hell, and he was the entertainer of the night.

Congrats to all….still love that brother ebony song nothing at all. One of the best in quite sometime. Tajoe, you need to be better bro.

  6. Congratulations to Fya Empress.

Your PRESENTATION was EXCELLENT, even though I FEEL TAJOE had the KAISO songs and the PERFORMANCE to RETAIN his TITLE.

BIG UP to JOY-C…that WOMAN knows how to COMMAND a STAGE…EXCELLENT PRESENTATION.

And of course, MASSIVE BIG UP to BROTHA EBONY, whose song I FEEL is a MASTERPIECE of MUSIC. It will be a TIMELESS VINCY CLASSIC.

I was HIGHLY IMPRESSED with REALITY as well. I find his DELIVERY was IMPECCABLE.

I REALLY ENJOYED POORSAH’S PRESENTATIONS. He EASILY could have PLACED in the TOP 4.

As for ZION-I, for some STRANGE REASON, I really ENJOYED his PERFORMANCE. I really LIKE this STYLE on STAGE, and his PRESENTATIONS were PURE FIRE.

However, those songs can EASILY get him into trouble, especially the second one.

When all is SAID and DONE, the CALYPSO MONARCH show was TOPNOTCH.

  7. VINCY IN BAD SHAPE, those TWO songs by TAJOE were EXCELLENT. I guess you are PROBABLY one of those FELLAS that WOMEN need to “READ BETWEEN THE LINES” about, so they will to keep their eyes on you.

In other words, bloggers should READ BETWEEN the LINES to see if you are SHOWING a SIGN of your CONSCIOUS BOTHERING U.
