KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Vincentian ambassador to the United Nations, Camillo Gonsalves will discuss with fellow citizens in New York his recent arrest by a cop in that North American city.

The diplomat will speak at a town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Friends of Crown Heights Educational Centre, 671 Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY, between Bedford and Franklyn Avenue.

The event is organised by the Consulate General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, USA and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Committee of New York.

Persons needing more information can call (212) 687-4490; (347) 414-0477; 718-344-7920; or (917) 856-9722.

The event will also be streamed live on WWW.USTREAM.TV/CHANNEL/VFBPRODUCTION

A New York Police Department officer on March 28 arrested Gonsalves in the lobby of his office building after the diplomat stepped between barriers outside of the building.

The cop, who handcuffed the envoy, reportedly injuring him in the process, later cited disorderly conduct.

The government here has said it is considering diplomatic and legal option for redress.

  1. This is just another attempt to brain wash Vincentians, I hope the New York Vincentians are not stupid enough to fall for this stiring up of the crap.

His first published account of what happened clearly shows that Gonsalves was 100% at fault.

    • Are there going to be Vincy-led demonstartions on the NYPD over this incident? Yo say yo gwine sue the policeman. Well sue nuh! Wah all this fuss about?

People we ha some serious problem in this country. People ah suffer real bad. ULP wanna tek we mind off the “economic-hell-hole’ this country HAS become under his “gangster-style”,’ marxist-type” leadership. This is what THE IDIOT Jomo want to lable Genius?….AH! HA! HA! HA! I never hear mo’ fart.

So Camello get rough-up by NY police. He is not the first, he will not be the last. Gonsolves think he has a case to sue the policeman, then go ahead and do that. What is the problem? You don’t have to go around trying to Bullsh*t people into supporting you. What exactly you want support for if everybody in NY dun support you? What is the town hall meeting for then? You dun give your side of what happen. Your report all all over the place. What happen you don’t believe what you said? So you have to sell it to make sure that it is convincing? I DON’T UNDER STAND THIS? What’s up with all this BLA! BLA! BLA! BLA! BLA!… Sh*t man! We got bigger problems right yah.

Way they keep hotting up we head with this issue for? Nuh people can’t pay dey light and water bills and can’t buy food. These are more important things than this sh*t. Our lives does not revolve around the affairs of Gonsolves and his son, who he appointed Ambassador. Dem nah have to worry ’bout all this economic crap we face from day to day. Dem and dem friends ah live high off we taxes AND SUCKING THIS COUNTRY like some national “soocooyah” while we ah suffer.

All yo’ ULP “askes” want to brand me as: “unpatriotic” ….That is quite OK with me. All yo’ could sue me too for unpratriotism for all I care. Fo me, Patriotism does not revolve around blind support for Ralph, his son nor dem ULP political “idiots”. Patriotism fo me, is to get rid of these immoral and unprincipled self proclaimed Political and social “OVER-LORDS” who have destroyed our blessed country. So “WTF” I care wha all yo think?

  7. The way he goes on about it is like some comess woman from de village and not an ambassador,” Eunice lay me tell yo what happen to me de odder day….Eunice way yo mean yo read me statement already..since when yo could read? Anyway me want tell yo again.. l.o.l It’s as if getting arrested is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to him..Most vincentians have never been arrested, nor have a policeman rub up on them while they’re handcuffed from behind, while whispering sweet nothings into their ear:”You have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law…….who’s laughing now b_ _ _ ?”

  8. Ambassador Gonsalves, tell the people how you got out of your car behind a barrier that was put there to make people enter through an entrance with a policeman on guard duty. Tell the people how the Israeli mission to the UN also have an office in the same building, and because of heightened security, security procedure and observance had been increased. Tell them how your vehicle and its registration plates were not in clear view of the police officer. Tell the people that instead of using the entranceway you squeezed through an 8″ gap in the barrier, or even moved the barrier slightly to gain access to the forecourt. Tell the people how you ignored the police officer when he called out to you. Tell the people how you did not recognize the police officer, he was unknown to you, therefore it is most probable that he did not know you. Tell the people how you walked briskly to the building, almost at a jog, at all times looking ahead and continuing to ignore or acknowledge the police officer. Tell the people how the police officer ran after you and asked you if you had heard him call to you, you replied in a rude and arrogant manner “you couldn’t of been speaking to me”. Tell the people how when the officer asked you for your ID, you replied “why am I under arrest”. Tell the people how at no time did you identify yourself as a diplomat or the SVG Ambassador to the UN. Tell the people how you struggled with the officer and would not allow him to handcuff you, until he was assisted by other police officers.

Boy your arse is grass, your only being kept on as Ambassador because your father is Prime Minister, now we are being bombarded by half truths and lies, which is typical of your father.

If you had any decency you would resign, and save SVG further embarrasment.

Could you also send this message to your daddy by diplomatic pouch

Donkey Gonsalves’s cousin, prime-minister controller, official SVG remover of barrier and cones, ‘Francis boy the Philistine’ the man who pulls the strings, the unelected unelectable.
As a man about town country and also the Buccament Bay Resort official food taster, ask him if he knows who really assassinated Glen Jackson, if he is unable to help or unwilling to comment, ask him to ask Donkey Gonsalves the same question. They seem to be know all, know nothing, sorts of people, I just thought they may be able help.

  9. People, I know that this is a democracy and people are free to talk about anything as long as they want to. But, I believe that it is time me leave this comess alone for now.

I say this because, over the week end I have come to the realization that a lot ah people ah catch dey backside in this country , way beyond what I previously thought. Imagine me neighbour, a dead ULP woman, came to me crying, asking for some food for her baby. This woman loose her wuk since last year and can’t find another. The ULP rep can’t help her. I could not help but cry. This woman has been my neighbour for over 20 years now. She curse me off over politics aready. For her to come to me and apologise for her past words, and ask me for food, has to be an act of profound desperation. Ralph people ah suffer real bad. DO SOMETHING FOR GOD SAKE!

    • Peter, you wrote; “Ambassador Gonsalves, tell the people how you got out of your car behind a barrier that was put there to make people enter through an entrance with a policeman on guard duty”… Peter! “behind a barrier”? Shouldn’t it be, “in front a barrier”. Then you said “put there to make people enter through an entrance”… plain and simply wrong. There are no barriers at the entrance of 800 2nd Ave with a policeman on duty. The entrance to the building is open to the public with un-obstructive access from the side-walk. Anyone can walk into the building without authorization from the Police Officer stationed outside, whose duty it is, “to observe the activities in the immediate area adjacent to the building, in conjunction with other officers on foot patrol”. Based on the above, you haven’t a clue as always. Most of your posts (after reviewing the archive) are baseless, useless, tasteless, misconstrued, and self-serving. Seems like you’re begging to be heard.

Moreover, you mentioned “heightened security”, in the context that there was “heightened security” on that day. Wrong again. There was no “heightened security” in the area, or anywhere in the city for that matter, on Wed’ 28thMarch or thereafter. Your post is highly speculative and demeaning.

The fact of the matter is whatever transpired on that day between Ambassador Gonsalves and Officer Parker was/is very unfortunate in a broader sense, for both involved. No comment here!

Mr. Gonsalves’s written statement as such, should not be taken lightly. Why would he want to incriminate himself by issuing a report of “half truths and lies”? Wouldn’t he have sought some legal advice (being a lawyer himself) before releasing the statement? I would think so. But these things are lost on you because you’ve already hardened your heart against anything Gonsalves or Vincentian for that matter.

Individuals like yourself, whose aim and sole purpose is to belittle and humiliate others, should realize that eventually the tables may turn, and you might become a victim. As simple as it may seem, as you sit behind your computer and spew venom and vilify and castigate others; like a cowardly assassin, the last laugh might be on you.

I also realize that of all the posts in the archive dating from your first (July 18′ 2011) up to the present, you’ve had the most admonishments. Doesn’t that speak volumes?. But he’s not listening.

From Minister Slater’s reprimand right up to VincyPowa’s, you continue to be a nuisance to all, but your kind…(they know who they are). On the contrary, you remind me so much of Ms Baptiste… with the Marxist, Communist thrash etc. are you in a relationship? or one and the same.

Furthermore, I don’t think you’re a Vincentian. How so? Simply by your use of the word “your as opposed to you’re” in the sentence “your only being kept on as Ambassador…” Educated Vincentians know better. You might be one of the foreigners that the Prime Minister warned us about when he said, “I bring this matter to the attention of my Caribbean brothers and sisters who share profoundly with us in a common humanity. I ask for your solidarity in this our struggle to build upon the immense gains in democracy, freedom, justice, and the people’s upliftment and to resist those from outside of our region who defame us and who seek to control us, …the foreigners, who come to control us, divide us, ravage our resources, and dull our consciousness with backward ideas, are antithetical to everything noble in our Caribbean civilization. We must resist them firmly!” You fall into that category.

  16. Want evidence of VINCYPOWA and NO-NONSENCE being part of the Gonsalves propagandar machine, part of the Marxist scum brigade, just read their above post’s.

Both these people are part of the paid IT squad that tries to protect the ULP and Gonsalves against the truth.

  17. Most advanced countries have training for diplomacy, no country would allow a boy loose as an ambassador with no training or class.

Here is the American Acadamy of Diplomacy, the UK, France, Germany and most normal countries have such facilities.
